Ecclesiastical Assembly

An Ecclesiastical Assembly of the Principals, Officers and Electors of the Parish of Grouville will be held at Grouville Parish Hall on Wednesday 13^th May 2009 at 7.30pm for the following business:

1) Adopt the Minutes of the Ecclesiastical Assembly held on the 14^th May 2008.

2) To receive, and if approved, adopt the Church Wardens’ accounts for the financial year 2008/2009.

3) Elect Church Officers for the year 2009/2010.

4) Elect a Committee to examine the Church Wardens’ accounts for the years 2009/2010.

A meeting of the members on the Church Electoral Roll will be held immediately after the above business

Marais a la Cocque

A Meeting of the Tenants or any interested parties will take place at Grouville Parish Hall on Thursday the 14th May 2009 at 7pm for the following business:-

1)         To agree the Minutes of the Meeting of the 23rd   March 1998.

2)         To elect a President and a Secretary.

3)         To decide on how best to conduct the affairs of the Marais a la Cocque.

Wednesday 19th August

Visite Royale

Parishioners should note that “Visite Royale” the Royal Courts visit to the Parish has been confirmed as Wednesday the 19^th August. This historic and traditional event involves the whole of the Royal Court, Bailiff or Deputy Bailiff, Jurats and other officials numbering about 40 persons will as part of the event require land owners to ensure that hedges are cut and trees do not overhang the public roads, the same as for a Branchage.

Parish in Bloom AGM

Following this years success, the Committee will hold its Annual General Meeting at Grouville Parish Hall on Monday the 2^nd November 2009 at 7.30pm for the following business:-

1.         Election of Officers

2.         To consider what categories to enter in both the Jersey and Britain in Bloom competitions for 2010.  

3.         Any other business.

Anyone interested in participating in any way is welcome to attend

Sunday 8th November

Remembrance Sunday Members of the Municipality, Parishioners and especially former members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces are invited to attend the Remembrance Day Service in the Parish Church of Grouville on Sunday 8^th November at 10.45 a.m.

After the Service a short Act of Remembrance will be held in the Churchyard (for those who died in the Battle of Jersey).

An Ecumenical Act of Remembrance will be held at the Parish War Memorial, Grouville Coast Road at 10.15 prior to the aforementioned Services.

An Assembly of the Principals and Electors of the Parish of Grouville will be held at Grouville Parish Hall on Wednesday the 11^th November 2009 at 8.00pm for the following business:-

1.                  To receive and if deemed advisable approve the minutes of the Parish Assembly held on the 1^st July 2009.  

2.         Officier du Connétable

To elect an Officier du Connétable for the Vingtaine of La Rocque.

3.         Officier du Connétable

To elect an Officier du Connétable for the Vingtaine of Des Marais. 

4.         Vingtenier.

To elect a Vingtenier for the Vingtaine of De La Rue.

5)         Rates (Jersey) Law 2005 Article 32(1).

            To elect two members of the Assessment Committee, the Terms of Office of Anthony Powell and Robin Alletson being due to expire.

Thursday 10th December

Father Christmas Father Christmas will make his annual visit this year on Thursday 10^th December at 5.20pm. All gifts and donations for the less well off in the Community can be made on or before this date. Entertainment with DJ Caz, soft drinks and the traditional refreshments for the Children will be available. All are Welcome.

Saturday 12th December

Senior Citizens Christmas Party

Grouville’s Senior Citizens Christmas Party is to take place on Saturday the 12^th December at the Hotel Ambassadeur.

If you have not received an invite by the last week of November and would like to attend, please contact the Parish Hall as we would like to encourage as many parishioners to attend as possible. Numbers are limited, but if we are unable to allocate you a place this year, we will add you to our list for next year.

Connetables Christmas Reception

The Connetables Christmas Reception has been scheduled for 4pm on Friday the 18^th December, to which all are warmly welcome to join the Connétable and Dawn for a Christmas tipple.
