25/09/2014Life Sized Statue now placed outside St Peters Country Inn- now Sir George Carteret

Sir George (de) Carteret was born in Jersey, lived and schooled in St Peter​, he changed the name of New Netherlands in the Americas to New Jersey on the 24 June 1664 and this year is the 350th anniversary of that date. The piece of art that was commissioned to celebrate our important sons from history and enthuse future generations to see what a small man from little Jersey can achieve has now been placed outside St Peters Country Inn - now aptly named The Sir George Carteret.
